I am not talking about being grateful for being organized because I am not. I am talking about how grateful I am for those that are organized and more specifically emergency responders.
The photo above was taken about 15 minutes after an elderly man drove his car off the road and down into Malibu Creek in Malibu Canyon. The creek is about 75 feet almost straight down from the road. I was amazed how quickly all the different agencies arrived and took charge of their respective roles.
There were even inmates (orange clothes, white helmets) brought in work the scene. The elderly man even took out a large power box that left exposed cables which required another agency to deal with.
It all seemed to flow so well. I was reminded of my own accident from last year. Although I don't remember anything from it I do know that I arrived safely to the hospital.
The whole fabric of society is woven together by so many different jobs and professions. Among those, are many that require certain individuals with a greater willingness to serve. For emergency personnel, it can't be about the money because they don't seem to make much compared to the service they provide.
I believe it is about the service itself. It is a willingness to serve their fellow beings. Thanks everyone!
These are 52 things I am grateful for. They are in no particular order and sometimes completely random in nature. If anything within this blog enhances your own gratitude or surprises you with an inspirational Ah Ha, all the better.
